I thinks, This Army is Suleiman the Magnificient Age(AD1520-1566).

This period were the golden age of Ottoman Army.

Mainly, I'll play WarGame Rules 1420-1700 of WRG.

This Army composited by about 1600 points.

This rules contains many interesting detail of Samurai Warfare.

Red Armor (Japanese Aka-Zonae) psychologycal impact,

rotational fire of Arquebus Mercenary,etc...

Commander's rating is so heroic, It is very Japanese liking.

I bought DATE's BATTLES too.

6th published in 1980, and 7th published in 1986.

6th is so realistic, but 7th is simply.

(7th is prototype of DBA?)

I like more detailed 6th than 7th.

Maybe I make ancients miniature army in the next year.

to Middle foot Bases(3 Figures).

I got new gaming table recently, that area is 150cmX90cm.

This table is just small than standard size(180cmX120cm),

so I thinking make the Army just small scale too.

But such small Army are disappointment just a little.

I'm thinking make the 600 points Army of Field of Glory:Renaissance,

or 300 points Army of DBMMv2.

Now I drawing Formations of Army,

and culculate Army Points of Ottoman Turk, Hungary......

And I planning Scottish Army

and Japanese Samurai Army that have'nt miniatures yet.

I finally started first painting 15mm fugures.

My works was often suspended on Rolling Blackout by Earthquake.

But I enjoy these works now.

At First, I painting Azab Bowmans of Ottoman Turk.

Mainly, I use Acryl Gouache of TURNER.

These colors are SADA's recommended.

Base size is 40mmX20mm, for Field of Glory series.

And I'll use this bases to DBMMver.2

and old WarGames Rules 1420-1700.

These Rules have some difference, but is not much problem...maybe.

Base made by 1mmPlastic plate, and reverse side is magnetic sheet.

Base Decorate is so simple.

I mixed Green Turf of Woodland Scenics,

and Static Grass, Sand of CITADEL.

I only dipped original mixed green powders.

Even so, My First challenge is so difficult.

And Bowman's finishing is unskillful, but memorable figures for me.

These Akinjis are My First painting Cavalries.

These Base size is 40mmX30mm for FoG and DBMMv2.

And Separated Base is for Wargame Rules 1420-1700.

In that Rules, When Troops suffer damages, remove indivisually figure.

Now I continue paintings.

My Army's completion is so far away,

however I'll enjoy painting works little by little.

The 2011 East Japan Earthquake

Dear All, I and my family are safely.

My hometown, Ichikawa-city was struck by this Earthquake too,

But there is no damage at all for my family.

And fortunately, All my relative live in Iwate and Miyagi is safely too.

Especially, I was anxiety My Aunt live in Miyako.

She's city Miyako was struck by terrible Tsunami,

and lose every contacts 2 Days.

However, Today, I heard She's family is safely, so we were relieved.

This is taken Photograph by my cousin in Miyako-city, Iwate.

This scene is very tragic,

But aunt's house build on the hill , so she's family were survived.

Earthquake is usually in Japan, and Japanese accustomed disaster.　

But This Earthquake and Tsunami was The Worst Calamity in this 1000years.

There is still a lot of missing person now.
Hereafter, the fact of casualities might be obvious.

Japan will face the unfortunate damages,
but We'll make an effort to the rescue of survivors
and the revival of disaster areas.

And Thanks for the help from overseas.
Pray for Japan is especially gentle and encourage messages.
We'll never daunted for this disaster.

Preparations of Painting

I started preparation of painting 15mm figures.

First of All, I bought 50cm rectangle piece of lumber in DIY shop.

The double-faced tape is pasted there, and Figures fixed.

Next, I splayed CITADEL Black to figures in my house garden.

An old cardboard box is useful in this work.

And Figures puts it on the sunny-sides..

Spring has come in Japan too, It is the best season for dryness..

At the end, figures fixed on bottle-caps.

Hereafter, it will be a start of painting.

LEGION Seleucids Syria vs Repubric Rome (Part.2)

1st Turn, We startred Missile fire each other.

Roman Slinger caused double hit to Elephants of Syrian Right Wing.

So, Already 1 Elephant unit removed.

2nd Turn, I made a chariots of Syrian Left Wing charged.

Chariots scattered Javelins of Roman Right Wing,

and other roman unit's morale broken.

But triumphantly chariots pursuited roman, left the battlefield forever......

3rd Turn, Syrian HvCav of Left Wing succeed Charge,

and Cataphract Cav pursuited to out of battlefield too.

So, Syrian Left Wing became weaken, Roman started counter-attack.

4th Turn, All Syrian Pharanx were Charged,

and Roman Legion franking attack to weak Syrian Left Wing.

But encircled Pharanx succeed morale check of pre-melee !!

All Syrian Pharanx's charge succeed, Roman legion defeated.

And LtCav of Roman Left Wing drow back.

Syrian Army hold superiority, we ended the battle.

LEGION is so old game rules,

however it's so simple and playable system.

I feel the Pharanx is too strong,

But SADA said 'Pharanx in plain field were unrivaled.'

It's so fact, and I agree with every ancients gamer wants Pharanx.

LEGION Seleucids Syria vs Repubric Rome (Part.1)

I and SADA played 300 army points battle of LEGION

in West Tokyo Wargamers on sunday.

These miniatures are SADA's collection too.

In this Battle, I commanded Seleucids syrian army,

and SADA selected Repubric Roman army.

Rules that we used were LEGION of Fantasy Games Unlimited.

This rules published in 1976, I play the first time.

In LEGION, one figure show 50-100 persons.

Both players individually write the orders to all units at each turn.

Seleucids syrian army were Phalanx(7), Pertast(3),

Archer(1),Javelin(3),Successor LtCav(3),HvCav(1),

Cataphracts(1),Elephants(2),Chariots(2).

Syrian Right Wing is Elephants and LtCav.

Syrian Left Wing is Chariots and HvCav.

Roman Army are Hastatus,Princepts,Triarius(14),

Velite(3),Archer(1),Sling(1),LtCav(4),RomanCav(2).

SADA constructed Roman Legion formations.

I'll report result of the Battle tomorrow. see you !

Field of Glory:Renaissance

Now I reading Field of Glory:Renaissance Rulebook.

Wars of Renaissance Era is most interesting for me.

Simple rules of this game is like so playable as Field of Glory.

Of course, I bought companions too.

Wars of Religions, Trade and Treachery, and Clash of Empires.

While reading these companions, I planning make Army of Renaissance.

Already I ordered Figures of Huguenot & Catholic Army

of The French Religion Wars,

and Ottoman Turkish Army, Hungarian Army.

I want to play Field of Glory:Renaissance use figures above in the future.

This Road is so long, but I intend enjoy to painting and making the Army.

Field of Glory

I bought Field of Glory Rulebook and companions......

Storm of Arrows, Oath of Fealty, and Eternal Empire.

This Rules have simple Mechanism and looks like so Playable game.

I have not played this game yet, but so interesting.

Probably, I think making first Army of Field of Glory:Renaissance.

However, I planning make the ancient & medieval army too, in the future.

Field of Glory:Renaissance Rulebook and companions has already arrived too.

Battle of Pavia 1525 (Part.3)

French MAA chased Retreating Spanish.

I advanced Spanish Muskets to woods, and stand by fire..

Spanish Muskets fired French MAA include the King.

Lucky French King dodge volley fire and survive,
French Left Wing continued Purshit.

During Fire, Spanish MAA rallied morale,

and confronted French MAA again.

But French Army kept superiority,

My Imperial Right Wing were inferior in number.

However, Imperial Center Wing is fought very well,

On the whole, Two Armys were in conflicting with each other.

But We stopped the game at this point because of so tired.

(Set up start 9:30 Playing Time about 7 hours.)

This is only brief report of Imperial Right Wing Commander.

Battle of Pavia 1525 (Part.2)

My Spanish MAA attacked French MAA.

But 3 Spanish Units defeated in the early stages of the game.

I had a very tight battle since retreat.

Imperial Center Wing succeed pushed back French Army.

In the faraway Castle Mirabello, Imperial Guns Firing,

and Landsknechts Black Regions fighting.

Battle of Pavia 1525 (Part.1)

My Second Miniatures Play(11 April 2010) is

Historical Battle of Pavia in TOM 6 Funabori,Tokyo.

This Big Battle Session was planned SADA too,

and I maneged Right Wing of Imperial Army.

Imperial Right Wing......Spain MAA, Arquebusier,

Spanish Pikes & Muskets, Imperial Pikes, etc......

Battle of Fornovo 1495 (part.2)

Italian Army strated across the Taro River.

Frech Guns firing, and Swiss Pikes goes on Interception.

When my Crossbow Cavalries reached the opposite shore,

massive Swiss Mercenaries approached from three directions.

Thier Pike's Edge defeated my cavalries, Mantua Army's front run away.

I advanced Heavy Cavalries, and continued attack.
My Lancers fighted Swiss Pikes and French Cavalries.
But Enemy is so much, my army don't breakthrough.

In the same time, Italian Left Wing draw back too.
They Shooted by French Arquebus, and morale breaken.

However, Italian Right Wing Heavy Cavalries succeed breakthrough.
They drove French Cavalries, and blocked Path to the France.

We suffered heavy damages, but French Army doesn't go back home.
If we continued the session, Italian Army may win.
But we played the game 8 hours, so tired, stopped the Battle.

My First Miniatures Game is bitter end, however so exciting Experience.
I thank SADA's greatful efforts and guidance.

Battle of Fornovo 1495 ( part.1)

In the Beginning, My First Miniatures Play(22 November 2009) logging .

I take part in Historical Miniatures Battle of Fornovo in TOM 5.

TOM is The Old Musketeers.

Only Pre-1914 Wargaming Session in Funabori,Tokyo.

This Big Battle Session was planned SADA.

SADA is a specialist of war history, and great miniatures collector in Japan.

These All miniatures and terrains are SADA prepared.

I and other players played the game used SADA's collections.

We used Wargames Rules 1420-1700 by George Gush.

This Rules is old, but so very realistic and exciting.

This Sessions played 3 French Army Players and 3 Italian Army Players.

I maneged central Italian Army of Francesco Gonzaga, Duke of Mantua.

These Figures are My Mantua Army.

Front are Crossbow Cavalries, Heavy Armor Cavalries.

And Spain Infantries......Pikes, Arquebus, Halbardier, etc.

Pope's priests praying in rear camp.

Italian Commanders planed across the river,

and surprised attack French Army from flank.

Historically, Italian suprised attack was Success.

But We faced terrible bloody counter-attack........

Nice to meet you, All.

I Playing Table Top Games in Japan from 1981.
My First Game is AH Panzer Leader, and I'm 12 years old yet at that time.
After that, for a long time I Playing various Games.

And I logging play records in my blog 'Sideway-Shuffle' from 2005.
In this 6years, I played many many Board War Games, Role Playing Games (D&D,Pathfinder RPG),and Family Games.

And sometimes, I take part in Historical Miniatures Big Battles.
I'm biginner as miniatures gamer, however I interesting Historical Miniatures Games too.

Sideway-Shuffle reachs 6th Anniversary in 27 January 2011.
So, I try opens English version Blog for foreign language followers.

My English is not good, but I'll try introduce my game playings.
